This Privacy Policy explains how Seencite ("we") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with Seencite (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

• Account information — name, email, password (stored only as a salted hash), and organization details.
• Project data — the domains and sites you submit, and the pages, structured data, and public content we crawl from them on your instruction.
• Usage data — actions in the app, API/engine usage counters, and diagnostic logs.
• Billing data — handled by Stripe; we store only a customer/subscription reference, not full card numbers.

2. How we use information

• To provide the Service — crawl, audit, measure AI visibility, and generate fixes and content.
• To operate accounts, billing, quotas, and support.
• To send transactional email (welcome, report-ready, alerts) via our email provider.
• To secure, debug, and improve the Service, including aggregated, de-identified analytics.

3. Subprocessors

We share the minimum data necessary with service providers who process it on our behalf, including:

• Cloudflare — hosting, database, storage, and edge delivery.
• Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Perplexity — AI model and answer-engine queries used to score visibility and generate fixes/content.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.

Content sent to AI providers may include public page text from sites you submit and your prompts. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Retention

We keep account and project data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Raw crawl artifacts and visibility results may be rolled up or pruned over time. You can request deletion (see Your rights).

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, hashed passwords (PBKDF2), tenant isolation, rate limiting, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these, contact support@seencite.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

7. Cookies

We use only the cookies and local storage necessary to keep you signed in and to remember preferences (such as light/dark theme). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. International

We operate on globally distributed infrastructure; your data may be processed in countries other than your own, with appropriate safeguards.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
